Weekend

Well this weekend was pretty low key. Stef got put on bedrest Friday because she had 4 contractions within 30-40 minutes, so her OB ran a few tests and gave her a Terb shot. She goes back to the OB Monday am to see results and for another nonstress test. She is only 32 weeks along, so we are hoping Mason will stay put for a few more weeks.

So Potty training continues. We haven't had any pee pee accidents for awhile. As long as he goes before nap and before bedtime, he wakes up dry. And he hasn't had a standing accident since the first weekend. He still says "pee pee" and runs to the toilet, but doesn't always go. Not sure when this will stop. As for poopie, he tends to hold it in for a few days now. Think he is still scared and unsure of doing it sitting down and on the potty. But last night he finally did it, after holding out since Friday morning. Sheesh!

Potty Training - Day 5 & 6

Well, Day 5 was not as great as other days. Conor wet his bed during nap time, but in his defense he didn't go potty after lunch. The last time he went was around 11:10, then had lunch and got up from nap around 4:00. So today I asked his Nanny to make sure he goes before nap, even if his nap is delayed!

But then the evening was even more of a challenge. I was alone with Conor and since you have to watch them like a hawk, it makes it almost impossible to do anything else, much less use the restroom yourself. So we struggled, b/c Conor says "Pee-Pee" and is holding himself so we run to the potty. Once we get there he either sits down and does nothing or says "nothing" even though it's obvious he has to go. He is being stubborn like his daddy! HA HA! But was must have done this about 18 times, before he finally gave in and went pee pee. Now normally this is just time consuming, but when you are 32 weeks pregnant and have a giant belly, and get winded easily b/c you are 20 lbs overweight right now, it's extremely tiresome. So I was worried I was going to send myself into labor! The good news is, he's not just doing it anywhere, he's just holding it until he decides he's ready!

Then, after dinner Conor had to poopie. This was an ordeal too b/c we made it in time, but he wouldn't finish. He would say "all done" and we'd flush and wave by bye bye to poopie, but then 2 minutes later he'd yell "poopie" and need to go back into bathroom. So this always happened before I was able to actually give him his rewards (goldfish) and clean up. He did this 4 different times, and each time got a little in his underpants b/c he wouldn't just sit and finish the task at hand! Sort of like his daddy in that he has a few home projects he has started, but not really finished! HA HA! Only kidding, well sort of!
Conor did wake up completely dry again this morning, so that's a huge plus!

So Day 6 has been off to a much better start! Tonight it will be Craig on his own, since I have a work function. Hoping their night goes better than last night!

Potty Training - Day 3

So far Day 3 is starting out as success! Conor slept again from 8pm till 7am and was once again dry when he woke! We were in the middle of breakfast when he told Craig "pee pee!" So they were able to get there before any accidents and still has the same dry underpants on that he went to bed with! YEAH!
Hope we get another poop on the potty today! We've got a giant red firetruck waiting for him when he does!

Potty Training - Day 2

Conor slept 11 hours and went to bed with big boy underpants on, as we threw all the diapers away yesterday! He woke up completely dry! I expected this, but you just never know. He has been dry in the morning for the past month or so, so that was one major reason we thought he might be ready for this! And sure enough, he was completely dry after being in bed from 8pm till 7am! He still hasn't pooped since Thursday though!
************
Well, he finally did it! Conor had been holding out on poopie since Thursday! But just now, right before naptime, he finally started to do it in his pants, but Craig was able to get him to his potty before he completely unloaded! It was a process, they were in the bathroom for quite awhile. Conor shut the door, he needed some privacy! But Craig was with him the whole time! He was a little scared, but he did great! And our sweet boy took his time and dropped a giant bomb in his potty! Then the boys flushed it down the toilet and said bye bye!
WE ARE SO PROUD!!!

Potty Training - Day 1

Well, Labor Day weekend has officially begun, and has Potty Training! We decided to give it a whirl, to see if Conor was interested! It sure would be nice to have him out of diapers before the next baby comes. I'm still due on Halloween, but you never know what the Byers's boys will do!?

So we are in the middle of the first day, following a method that many of my friends have tried and have had success. It's called 3 Day Potty Training and so far by nap time, we were 13 big boy underpants in, but the last 2 times before his nap he was able to take off running to the potty and do his thing before wetting his underpants! This method has them wearing only a tshirt and big boy underpants and recommends you have 20-30 underpants ready. I've already done one load of laundry! And we have since taken the tshirt off, because he has pee'd on it too!
So we have an almost naked boy running around for the next 3 days! It's hilarious but exhausting because obviously we are watching his every move and telling him every minute to "let us know when you need to go potty ok?" sometimes he just ignores us and sometimes he says "ok." But this biggest success has been the 2 episodes where he just took off running for the bathroom! He then throws his hands up in the air and yells "Big Boy!" while we praise him and reward him with goldfish, because he hates sweets!
Check back later for update!
