NO June Gloom! So this weekend we went to visit our friends Denise, Brian & Sadie who live in Pacific Beach, CA. It started out a long trip, b/c Conor still hates his car seat, even though we have moved him up to the next car seat which is more roomy and much more comfortable. We weren't even an hour away (5-6 hr drive) when we asked each other..."should we turn back?" So we took turns sitting in the back seat with him and that made it much better. We rolled into SD at about 7pm and got to hangout for a bit before the kiddos had to go to bed.
On Saturday, we started the day with a walk along the beach. Then once Conor woke from his morning nap, we went to La Jolla for lunch. After lunch, we noticed that Conor was acting really lethargic and was burning up. He had a 102 temp out of now where. He continued to have a temp the rest of the weekend, which was kind of a bummer, but no other symptoms and still eating & drinking like a champ!
On Sunday, his temp was back to normal (for a little while anyways) so we decided to go to the Padres Dbacks game as planned. This ballpark has a huge park inside for families where you can lay a blanket down and watch the game or just play. Great for kids!!! We only got to stay for a couple of innings before his fever spiked back up to 102, so we left. But we would love to come back, it was a great place to be! This is a video of Craig & Conor on the beach Saturday afternoon, dipping Conor's feet into the cold water. He didn't really react, probably because his fever had just started. Oh well, we will hope to try again later this summer!
